General Certified Appraiser - Kim has been a General Certified appraiser since 1997. She started working with her dad, Edward Ekdahl, in the real estate business in 1992. Mostly recently in June 2017, she passed her real estate license exam and is now dual licensed. She is looking forward to increasing the real estate sales for Ekdahl Real Estate, as well as continuing her work as an appraiser. In the appraisal field she covers a large circle stretching from Abilene, TX to Wichita Falls, TX. Prior to her appraisal career, she worked for the FDIC as an asset management specialist. In this line of work, she assisted with the closure of insolvent banks in Texas and the sale of bank loans to third party investors. The job required the review and analysis of many real estate loan files. After leaving the FDIC, Kim and a business partner started a company called Tre-Mar, Inc. The purpose of this business was to be a liaison between failing banks and investors in the transfer/sale of bad loans. Kim graduated from Texas A&M in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. Free time is spent enjoying outdoor activities with family and friends. Running is a core activity in her life. She loves teaching the bible and travels to Haiti for mission work several times a year.
