Henrietta’s House is a 1909 Greek Revival style home designed by architect S.B. Elliot for one of the founding families for the community of Hamlin. The home is still owned by the same family today. Elliot’s classical design features a triangular pediment at the entrance, classical columns with Tuscan capitals, and a balustrade along the second story porch.

Located on a large corner lot, the historical home includes six bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, six additional rooms, and a landscaped lawn to entertain family and friends. Original hardwood floors, pocket doors, and hardware throughout the interior hold to the original design while the renovated kitchen adds a modern touch. The large porch along with the screened-in rear balcony and porch allows you plenty of spots to enjoy the outdoors.

History of the Home: The historic Henrietta’s House was built in 1909 as a grand Antebellum-styled family home, rich in history and character, style and architecture, with an underlying elegance that is timeless. The current owner’s great grandmother, Henrietta Carpenter Moore, built the treasured house, where she lived along with her family. It has been one of the oldest and most beloved homes in Hamlin. R. D. Moore, Henrietta’s husband, donated the land where the City of Hamlin stands today. The family roots behind the property stretch all the way to today. Henrietta’s great grand-daughter is the current owner of the home.

Residence Details: Six bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and six additional rooms to entertain.  Original plans describe the lower level rooms as reception hall, library, family room, kitchen, dining room and parlor. The home also includes two carports and a two-car garage on a spacious landscaped corner lot.
