1980
Ekdahl Nelson started in the wide-open spaces of West Texas. Ed Ekdahl started Ekdahl Real Estate in 1980, while continuing the Ekdahl family’s cotton operation in Jones County. As the business grew, Ed opened an office on the downtown square of Stamford, Texas and it became his primary career
1996
In 1996, his son John started his real estate career as a sales agent for Ekdahl Real Estate after graduating from Texas A&M University. Over the years, John helped grow the business recruiting several agents and obtaining his broker’s license.
2007
Ed decided to hang up his spurs and retire in 2007. John then took over as the owner of Ekdahl Real Estate.
2017
After running the business for over 10 years, John grew the Ekdahl Real Estate even more by opening an additional office in Anson, Texas to support the business’ growing team of agents.
2019
In 2019, John and longtime West Texas real estate professional A.E. “Butch” Nelson decided to merge Ekdahl Real Estate and Nelson Farm & Ranch Properties headquartered in Abilene, Texas.
Today
Ekdahl-Nelson Real Estate now serves an even greater portion of West Texas with offices in Abilene, Anson, Aspermont and Stamford. As a full-service real estate brokerage firm, Ekdahl Nelson specializes in farm and ranch, recreational, residential and commercial properties and continues to serve clients in Texas, and Oklahoma.
