Roy will be based out of Haskell County and serve the surrounding areas specializing in farm and ranch properties. Roy’s background gives him a unique perspective that he is ready to offer his clients.
Roy Wilson grew up in the farming, ranching and oil industry in Haskell County. He graduated from Rule High School in 1973 and joined the United States Army that same year. During his army career, he was stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he worked in law enforcement and wildlife and fisheries. He also served two tours overseas in Germany and Korea both for 13 months each.
In 1980, he was honorably discharged as a sergeant and moved back to Haskell County to the community of Rule, where he went to work his dad as a contract oilfield pumper. Then in 1985, Roy started working in the hunting, outfitting and ranch management business. For almost 40 years, Roy worked in the outfitting and ranch management business.
During his 40 years, Roy alongside his wife Becky built a 30-year outfitting business, Krooked River Ranch Outfitters, serving as a hunting and fishing destination in Haskell, Shackelford, and Throckmorton counties and booking hunting excursions for visitors from all over the world. Roy also owned and operated several other outfitting ranches across West Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Yucatan, Mexico.
Roy has expert knowledge in managing ranches for wildlife and experience with specialty land and wildlife conservation programs including EQUIP, WHIP, CRP, WRP and government cost-share programs with federal agencies. From his management work, Roy has built relationships with outdoorsmen from all over North America. He looks forward to continuing to build relationships now with his real estate clients as a Haskell real estate agent.
Roy enjoys the outdoors and traveling with his wife Becky to watch their grandchildren compete in athletic and agricultural competitions. Becky and Roy are also members of the Bethel Assembly of Anson.
